We are excited to welcome you to our home! We live on the premises and aim to provide you with a personable, welcoming, true Newfoundland experience, consisting of down-home hospitality, good food and new friends to last a lifetime! Take a step back in time and stay in our lovingly restored 1930’s era home, enjoy our newly renovated, modern suites in our vibrant red, historic, "Jellybean" house in the heart of beautiful St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada.
How long have you heard "The Rock's Signal...calling you?" It is time to finally visit this breathtaking province! Whether you've been "away" for a long time and it's calling you back home, or it's your first visit (but we're sure not your last), come stay with us and we will be your home away from home!
We are honoured that our home was selected from the many “Jellybean” row houses in St. John’s as a wall mural featured at “The Rooms” Museum! Find us there and take a selfie in front of the “historic” pic and “present” pic, as many of our previous guests done!
Beautifully custom designed, Newfoundland inspired, stained glass greets you as you enter our foyer. Also displayed throughout our home is an array of stained glass windows, wall art and homemade quilts boasting local island talent.
Throughout the extensive renovation process, it was important to us to preserve the historic charm of our 1930’s era home. Wherever possible, the original hardwood floors, doors, banister were preserved, along with the five beautiful ornate fireplaces throughout the house encased in their original mantels. The result is an environmentally conscious blend of old world feel with modern comfort and convenience including energy efficient heating/cooling (A/C) individually controlled by room so that each guest may change the temperature to suit their needs.
Our Suites
Enjoy a luxurious stay in one of our newly renovated suites, with the comforts of modern life mixed with the antiques and traditions of days gone by.
Each suite features a private ensuite, king or queen bed, A/C (individually controlled), Keurig coffee maker, mini fridge, smart tv, fireplace (electric), portable fan, black out curtains.
Enjoy, luxurious linens, towels and cozy robes, slippers, hair dryer, make up mirror, variety of toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, to name a few.
TV entertainment, cable (including sports channels), Netflix and Disney accounts are supplied for your enjoyment. High speed wifi with boosters on each floor to ensure no delay in speed, it is efficient even in the back garden!
Breakfast & Afternoon Tea
Included in the cost of your stay, enjoy a delicious homemade breakfast! Every morning, start your day with a delicious healthy fruit, yogurt parfait, followed by a hot breakfast and a variety of in-house homemade baked goods.
Samplings of breakfast items; 1st course - coffee/tea, Fruit yogurt Parfait, freshly made fruit juices, homemade breads, scones and preserves / 2nd course - French omelettes, frittatas -sweet Atlantic shrimp/crab/vegetarian, etc.., traditional breakfast - eggs, sausage, fish cakes, home fries, protein fruit smoothie bowls, etc...
Enjoy "Afternoon Tea", where we offer coffee, tea and homemade (made fresh in-house from scratch) goodies! Also included with the cost of your stay!

Our Garden/Patio
After a day of exploring, enjoy our beautifully designed, cozy, romantically lit backyard oasis with a raised patio featuring a large covered gazebo.
Relax in one of our comfy chairs, listen to the birds singing and the wind rustling in the many mature trees providing a spa-like tranquility. Even with a gentle rain you can cozy up under the gazebo, put your feet up, read a book or enjoy a board or card game (that we have available for your use), with your family and friends creating more enjoyable memories!
St. John's
Even though we are located just two blocks from downtown St. John’s, we are on a quiet residential street. We provide parking permits for street parking.
Wander down a couple of blocks to historic Water Street, full of tourist shops, adorable boutiques and a variety of delicious restaurant options. Enjoy a pint and live music at one of many famous George Street's colourful collection of pubs & bars.
If you're looking to experience some of St. John's natural wonder, we highly recommend that you take a trip, walkable from our house, to Signal Hill National Historic Site with it's winding walking/hiking trails around the coast and breath-taking ocean views or a boat tour to see the whales and puffins!
Many museums are also within walking distance, The Rooms Museum sitting high above St. John’s gives a glorious view from its delicious café overlooking the harbour and city, the Railway Museum, and the Johnson Geo centre, to name a few.
